The third assessment task is the hardest one. It makes me stressed out that i slept in the morning and easily got angry. Our task is to create 2 partial essays, a compare and contrast essay, a multimedia text and a reflection blog. Each person would have a different topic and my topic is about the most up-to-date and trendy handphone in this year which is Blackberry Bold. Even though this assessment requires a lot of time and efforts, but in the end I realized that there are several things that I learn to develop more in my academic writing.
In each essay, it requires thesis and preview of main points. Without the presence of thesis, we would not know what we are going to argue or discuss in the essay. The essay will be developed by several points; each point in each paragraph with its own topic sentences. Every essay contains of 3 sections; the introduction, the body paragraphs and conclusion.
As I mentioned before, my topic is about Blackberry Bold. I gain a lot of knowledge and know more about my topic. What I learn is that its features make it a prestigious gadget. Its popularity makes people to buy it due to status. Its abilities, which are its advantages, make its users addicted. Once, the users are addicted, they begin to forget their duties and their focus. This addiction is even worse than drugs or alcoholic. Blackberry Bold can also lead the users to death, such as car accident. So this up-to-date handphone is truly a lethal drug to buy. Once you have it, you will become a slave to the Blackberry Bold.
In conclusion, I learn two things. First is that I need to develop more to be able to write a good formal academic writing, by practicing a lot and read newspapers or books. And last I learn that before I want to buy something, I have to research the details and the effects of having the goods.
