This English third assessment made me experience useful studies on how to construct sophisticated academic writing. The writings I made were the complete essay, partial essays, multimedia visual text, and this blog. I found that this lesson is very important for my future. By the way, there are several factors that affected the usefulness of this assessment.
Usually I write my essays without preparation. Nevertheless, in this assessment I was guided to construct an outline before writing the essay. A thesis is required to write an essay. At the first time, I do not even know what a thesis is. After Ms. Laura taught me about it, I realized that thesis statement is a major element in an essay. A well arranged grammar and sophisticated vocabulary were also required to make a formal essay. I have practiced to construct specific topic sentences for each paragraph, which is difficult. Last but not least, I hate receiving zero mark. Footnotes and bibliography was the solution to help me more honest and responsible about other people’s intellectual property.
In this task, I talked about Internet Browser and I observed many things that I can deliberate about the application. The part I liked the most is the compare and contrast essay which was about Mozilla Firefox vs. Internet Explorer. I have experience to be one the users of those browsers. Therefore, I can say that this topic is in the area of my expertise.
In summary, the outcome of this unit is enhancing my writing skills. Therefore, in my opinion this essay was better than my previous essays. The editing process helps me a lot to improve my writing skills. As well as putting all my effort to make this task successful.
