In this English Assessment, I have gone through many struggling, but I have learned many things such as correcting grammar mistakes, giving opinion. When I saw the notification for the first time, I have a little shock and said “This is definitely crazy!” it’s been a work hard in making this English assessment that has already made me sleep just for hours.
My failure in this assessment is that I was not ready yet and there was no preparation for this assessment, maybe because I felt that it was still long time before it’s time to complete it but, actually it’s very fast.
My success is that I could work for it seriously and I have done it very well in the one of the texts that I am really proud of it.
The favorite piece of mine is that opinion, the second partial essays. I have turned the draft, and the result is very well. i could count my mistakes, and there are only three mistakes that I have found.
Why I choose this kind of piece? It is because I’m proud of it that I could do my best in this English assessment although I haven’t enough preparation.

This is my third English assessment and I’m so grateful that I was given an opportunity to discuss my topic, transportation system, in series of academic writing pieces. In this assessment, I learn how to construct an essay and to create a bridge that connects my ideas that are separated in different texts.
There are five different text types that I need to work on after I choose my topic, which are compare and contrast, reaction or opinion, research, persuasive and a reflection. To make it understandable by everyone, I decided to make a sort of storyline. I introduce my problem, which is traffic jams in Jakarta, through my compare and contrast essay. I continued in discussing traffic jams in my opinion partial essay where I stated my own opinion towards Jakarta’s traffic complication.
Rather than talking about traffic problems only, I also suggest the solution to solve traffic jams by building MRT in Jakarta. I compose it into two different text types, which are research partial essay and a persuasive visual text. I planned to offer the proof how effective is MRT for Jakarta through my research essay and persuade the Government of Jakarta to implement this system in the city.
By doing this assessment, I could learn two different things. First, I learn how technological advances really support humans to be a highly mobilized creature through the development of transportation system. Second, I learn that all topics have the same difficulty level and I’m sure that my portfolio is not graded based on my topic but based on my academic writing skills. This has really been a crazy experience. This assessment task 3 is probably the hardest assessment I have faced so far. I was surprised on the amount of work we have to do, not one but five portfolios. It is pretty boring yet challenging for me to work on five things with the same topic.
Basically, my topic is about technology and I learned that many companies are competing to create better devices so they can win the customer’s hearts. They do this in many ways, like making unique technologies, developing features, or even innovating the existing technologies. About academic writing, I learned that it needs a lot of practice and you need time to do it. This is why the teachers give us a lot of time to do this assessment. When you procrastinate, you won’t get good ideas and it will affect your writing really badly.
I am proud of my partial opinion because it came directly from my ideas and I like to express them in different ways. I can improve my writing by asking questions if I don’t understand the instructions given. Also, I will do my future assessments way before deadline so I will have time to think and time to edit what I’ve done.
The only success I can think of is finishing this whole assessment and for the failures there are a lot of them. I can summarize my failure into a sentence; I can do much better than this if only I didn’t procrastinate.

Hi! I am so glad that I have finished five portfolio pieces as my third English assessment. After one month full of effort in doing this assessment, I have learned important things of creating different types of academic writing. It was challenging enough to make this assessment fully completed. It surprised me off when this assessment was notified. I have noticed since the first time that it is going to be very hard.
After getting this assessment done, I realized that I have expanded my knowledge on technology. I studied how to construct those five different types of academic writing, which some of the structures were new to me. Besides, I realized that I have developed much information on Windows Live Messenger as my topic.
In this assessment, I am most proud of my research partial essay. At first, I had no idea of making a partial essay. It seemed very difficult, but then I was so grateful that this assessment task had taught me new stuff. It was not easy to build topic sentences according to a thesis. Moreover, the research partial essay needed many supporting sources that I had to work hard on it.

REFLECTION !!!
The third assessment finally finish. To be honest this assessment is one of the toughest and the hardest of all the assessment that we have done. I need to make 5 kinds of academic writting including this blog entry that I make. A weeks ago I still confused about what I going to write then I decide to write about blackberry bold and nokia N 96. I choose both this topic because both of it are very popular right now. I think I learn a lot of new things by doing this task. I know that I didn’t put much efforts on the first two assessments but even I didn’t try as best as I can, I still learn how to learn and improve my English. I realized that every assessment worth very expensive. Its the time where I can test and improve my skills in english but somehow I don’t really managed my time well enough. So that’s the reason why I’m not submit the drafts. It’s been my bad habbits since long time ago where I did most of my tasks in the last minutes. I know that I should try hard in every assessment but It just hard to do so.
To be honest some part of the assessment are anoying such partial essay and a footnotes. But I try to be patient and finish my work. This assessment has teach me how to create an essay and how to create a better writting using a topic and how to make a stronger thesis. Even this assessment is not really fun but I still proud of my self because I can finish my assessment on time and I can learn how to be better. I also learn how to improve my grammar and voacabulary. I think my topic is not really hard, that’s why I’m finish on time. I think my topic gives me so much fun and new knowlegde. After all this time, my English assessment is finally finished!! I’m so proud and happy about it. I think, this assessment is has making me commit suicide and has stressed me out! This is the hardest and the longest assessment to do, but finally, it’s all over. This assessment is really challenged me on everything. This assessment makes me search through the internet for information and sitting all day doing this assessment. Some things that challenged me are the difficulties of writing an essay, the confusing of using footnotes and citing, and the quantity of this assessment! I was challenged to do my best to finish all those assessments and it’s really hard for me. I think I learned a lot through this assessment. I now knew more about my topic, and also know how to write different kind of texts, which I just realized it’s really hard. However, after finishing all texts in the assessment, I am so proud of everything. Third Assessment Reflection
The third English assessment is about academic writing, in which students need to present a portfolio that contains four pieces of academic writing plus one reflection blog entry. The topic of the essay is about technological issue and I took a long time to really decide what’s my topic will be. After thinking much about the topic I finally decide that I going to wrote about Internet browsers. The most interesting things I’ve learned from my topic are that the Firefox 3 address bar feature is hyped the “Awesome bar” and that the Google have a comic about Google Chrome’s features. In the process of making the academic writing, I’ve learned to create a better writing using topic sentences and a strong thesis. I’ve never put up much thought about those elements when writing an essay before.
My biggest and most fatal failure in this assessment is my unorganized time management. I’ve lost crucial feedback from draft collecting because I worked out all the writings nearing the deadline of the project. Well, I’ve never been able to manage my time on a large project like this and I’ve always ended up with a last minute rush. I believed that if I manage my time, like setting up milestones maybe, the outcomes of this assessment will be much better.

These past weeks of doing the English assessments were very stressful, and I don't find it fun as some of my other classmates do. On the day the assessment notification was given, I felt as if there was still a long time to do these five tasks. So I decided to take it easy and relax for about a week. After a week, I decided to start making the compare and contrast essay. But in a week I haven't even finished it yet, because I honestly didn't know that I had to do five tasks. When I read the assessment notification I panicked, and decided to start on the partial essay. Not surprisingly, I decided to relax again after I did half of it.
At the day that Miss Laura informed the whole class about the next day being the last day to hand in the drafts, I really panicked and did all of them. Although, I only managed to only finish the partial essay and hand it in as a draft. After the deadline of the drafts, I really started and finished the tasks starting from Friday. So after I did three of it, I decided to take a break on Saturday morning and continue to do the partial essay in the afternoon. Sadly, my parents took me out on a dinner at the afternoon and watched a movie. Hence, I did not do anything on Saturday.
So today I will be doing my partial essay on my opinion about Macbook, because that's the topic I chose to do, and I will check and edit the tasks that I've done. Thus, overall I think that these tasks were very tiring, time consuming, and stressful. I also consider that I should never again do any homework or assessment at the last minute because it is very exhausting.

Reflection of Assessment Three
This is my reflection of my third English assessment. I have one statement about it: “It is hard!” but I am challenged by my topic, “Lighting Now Days” that was popped into my mind when I heard Ms. Laura said it must be about technology.
I have learnt to write different types of texts with different content. I wrote two partial essays which is a structure organization or called the summary of an essay. I also learnt to make a full essay about my opinion regarding an issue and a flyer which is fun to make. Beside all that, I had gain more knowledge about lighting now days, they are about CFL (Compact Fluorescent Lights) and incandescent which is considered traditional.
Among all texts that I wrote and made, I think the best is the full essay about my opinion regarding an issue about CFL. I am quite proud of it because I was able to share my experience and my perspective in the text. I can improve my writing in the future by writing more essay and creating more multimedia text type, practice on the structure, grammar, making thesis and topic sentences.
My failures are unable to manage the time to do the essays, submitting more drafts for each text types with different content. I submitted two drafts on my first partial essay, which is a comparison essay. My successes are being able to finish on time and followed most advices from my teachers. Lastly, I would be glad if my works are helpful to others, and I hope it will.

Reflection
This is the third assessment and I learned a lot from this assessment. I chose the topic of Instant Messaging (IM). I learned about four types of academic writing.
First, I learned to make a compare and contrast partial essay, I chose two types of IM and they are Yahoo Messenger (YM) and Windows Live Messenger (WLM). I think this one is the easiest part, maybe it is because I edited it several times.
Second, I learned to make a research partial essay. It was a difficult task because the reliable information about IM is limited and at first I did not know what to do.
The third one, I learned about making a complete essay about my reaction or my opinion to an article about IM. The article said that WLM is better than YM and I agreed about that statement because there were some good evidences in the article to support the statement.
The last one, I learned to make a visual text to persuade other people to use IM. I also learned that IM now has become popular and IM is starting to replaced telephones and e-mail because IM is more efficient and effective.
I am most proud of my compare and contrast partial essay, maybe because I edited it several times more than the other pieces.
I made some mistakes on grammar and word choices; also I was having trouble in making a complete essay. Maybe I have to get more practice on writing to improve my writing skills.

Finally all the English assessment is done. It has been really rough weeks lately. When Miss Laura gave us the assessment notification, I really surprised and confused about the task. The notification told us to make 5 piece of writing. Our writing must be in 5 different form and type of academic writing. One complete essay, two partial, one visual, and one blog entry are the form. Compare and contrast, research, reaction/opinion, persuasive, and reflection are the type of academic writing that we must complete. For one week I just think how to start and how to do the task. After a week I saw many of my friends has started to do it and so do I.
I have done all my work and now I want to share what I got after did the entire task. By did the task, I know how to make the formal writing in many different form and types of academic writing. From the complete essays I practice how to write a good essay and think out-of-the-box. The partial essay makes me learn how to make the outline for essay, in this case I really think that the outline is the most important and crucial part of making the essay. The Visual task can train me to be creative. From the visual task I also can express our self in the school task, this is very interesting. Last but not lease the blog entry; this task seems pretty important to me because this task introduce me the blog’s life. Before this time I never know that blogging is really fun thing to do. For me, doing blog entry task is the most important part of the assessment.
From the assessment I learn many things that can be used to improve my writing in the future. The most important thing that I realized is never procrastinating the work. In this assessment I start late and what do I get? I found myself not doing my best because of lack of time. In the future I will stop procrastinating the work so I have more time for preparing it. The other thing that can help improve my writing is return the draft to the teacher for corrections. This is really important because to do the best sometime you have to ask for help from other people that more expert. By returning the draft to the teacher I can know my mistakes and correct it. At the end, I just want to say that this assessment really helpful for our future and for our life.

Assessment by assessment, this year has been one hell of a busy and exhausting one for me. So, here it comes, English third assessment which required me to write as many as five academic writings each with their own different structures and elements. I personally enjoy writing because by writing, I’m able to express my emotions that I’m feeling. However with that said, I found myself to be lacking any interest in doing this assessment. The main reasons are because I had to conduct research, write partial essays which I found to be apathatic and the topic itself, technological issue, does not appeal to me.
Frankly speaking, this is a heavy and quite an immense assessment. I chose my topic to be Blackberry and the things that surround this topic area. The reason is mainly because I have been fascinated by how the advent of Blackberry has changed the face of this modern era. A new way of communication has emerged, simply because the existence of this gadget. A revolution is taking place.
Despite all the burdens and afflictions, I found that by completing this task, I have learned so much that I personally believe those things I’ve learned are very precious and useful. This assessment has been specifically made me to realize my weaknesses in writing. It has opened my eyes to see which areas I need to improve. I started to learn new words that are ironically never really tought at school, which has enabled me to widen my vocabulary knowledge into a new high. I have also learned that in order to produce a fine and qualified writing, I have to be very careful in every single aspects, from the little things like preposition until citing resources. Honestly, I found that citing footnotes is a very annoying thing to do but I have to know that plagiarism is a serious case when misused. I also learned how to give a clearer and better organization structures to my writings, not to mention I learned about thesis statement!
Due to my bad habits, I did this assessment in the last minute. I started this assessment approximately one week before this assessmentt is due. So, I did not had the chance to do a draft and redo the writing by correcting the errors and mistakes. More over, the result of my writings are not maximum because I simply had failed to manage my time wisely. This procrastination habit is definitely something that I need to work on to get rid of it.
They say, experiences are the best teachers for us to learn something, and yes it has been the case here. I absolutely need to work harder next time around to achieve better result. I’m proud that I managed to finish this absurd assessment and I will try to find the enjoyment that lies behind every tasks given to make me more motivated in doing them.

This assessment is like the hardest and the most tiring assessment I have ever had in year 11. First I thought it was an easy task but after a while I realized that it was really hard. The task is divided into 5 parts, a complete essay, 2 partial essays, a visual text and a blog as I’m writing it now. The theme is about technology. I chose video games as I thought it was the easiest for me. Did I just write easy?? I was really shocked when I started the complete essay. It was beyond my imagination. I thought I could finish it like in 1 hour but instead I finished it in almost 3 hours. The visual text took the most time. I made a video about Nintendo Wii commercial and it was madness. I had to go to my friend’s house to ask him for help.
I learned a lot of things from this assessment, first I learned how to work hard and never give up. From the academic point of view, I learned many things like how to write a formal complete essay with vocabulary words that I never heard of. I have done my assessment task and I feel great about it. I have been eating tasteless noodles and a cup of worry juice until I have done it. It is been a very great experience on doing the assessment. It teaches me a lot of writing skill and gives me tons of experience.

When I first received the notification of this English Assessment, I was agonized. A visual/ multimedia text, a complete essay, two partial essays, and a reflection blog were the given tasks. There should be a compare and contrast, research, persuasive, reaction writing- I was confused on arranging them. We were then asked to pick a topic that is related to technology. Another confusion struck me. I totally had no idea of which technology I was going to grab, but at the end I decided iPod would not be bad. Along with that decision, I managed my writings. Here is how it went: complete essay as a persuasive text, 1st partial essay as a compare and contrast, 2nd as a research, and visual or multimedia text as an opinion.
My work started with the complete essay. I submitted the complete essay draft on June 3rd 2009. The second draft was the 1st partial essay; submitted on the same day as the complete essay. Luckily, I handed in another 1st partial essay draft on June 4th. My 2nd partial essay draft was submitted the day after (June 4th 2009). I didn’t get any chance on submitting any more drafts. One thing to take note people, be steady with your choice or ended up procrastinating with several options. It was devastating and that happened to me. Arranging for the academic writings had got me into a stressful foresee on what I’m going to do for few weeks.
Directly after I got my drafts, I rushed to do more revising. Pushing myself too hard on doing piled up works that I often times caught myself stealing gaps to play. That was my problem, procrastinating much and constantly confused of my works thus producing a poor writing.
Honestly speaking, I’m proud of my complete essay. Though people could have different opinions, but from that writing I absorbed new vocabularies. I also edited it on my own. Still, I thought I should gather opinion from others. So I went online and ask few overseas friends; I did everything I was capable of doing. Including a personal reading out loud session, printing and edit it by hands (because I would be more sensitive to mistakes with that method). I did those things I mentioned to my other academic writings too.
Then how did I freely got out of those burdens? Well, I set up my works in order. The goal was just to help me reduce the confusion and not to freak out, simple! At a certain fixed time I should be able to finish a work, focusing mainly on that work and nothing else. That method was perfectly working out, and here I am writing my last piece of task, my blog reflection.

By doing these tasks, I have learned more about how to write pieces of academic essay in more formal language. I think making an outline before writing an essay is a very good idea in developing good essay. Thesis and topic sentences play an important role in an essay, and I found that to be the hardest thing to do. I also feel that my topic sentences aren’t that good, therefore I asked people to check them out before I submit the drafts. Another thing that I have learnt is about making footnotes. In my opinion footnotes are unnecessary, but they are very important. I also learned more about BlackBerry and its history in apparel.
I am most proud of my complete essay, which is a compare and contrast about BlackBerry and iPhone. I have learned so much about their similarity and differences.
I think I have succeeded in making 4 of my pieces, except for the multimedia text. Because I procrastinate in doing that, and I know that is a bad thing to do. I kind of confuse how to make a multimedia text with opinion, but after I did that, I feel really relieved.
After doing all of these tasks, I just realized that if I started to make these earlier, I might get better grades than now. And I have learned many things in doing these tasks.
I am most proud of my complete essay, which is a compare and contrast about BlackBerry and iPhone. I have learned so much about their similarity and differences.
